Gibraltar House Hotel

Indigo Group are investing in The Rock, Gibraltar, with the opening of a new 4 Star Hotel. The Harper Downie scheme see's the transformation of a five storey commercial property into an eight storey Hotel complete with rooftop bar, pool and green roof.

The existing structure is reinforced concrete moment frames with hollow pot floor slabs on a piled foundation which requires further three storeys on top. Keeping the additional structure as lightweight as possible to avoid overloading the foundations we've proposed a steel frame that mimics the existing layout and transfers the loads directly into the existing columns without the need for transfer structure.

Works are anticipated to start on site in 2019.
