This exceptionally beautiful Grade 1 listed building was designed in1852 by Joseph Paxton as a home for the Rothschild family. Packman Lucas were appointed to convert the building into a 120 room 6 Star spa hotel.
Architects Aukett Swanke’s proposals for a new build annex to the rear of the mansion was to be cut into the hillside to provide 60 suites and a spa. A number of areas within the existing building also required basement structure to create a link between the mansion and the new annex. These were required by Historic England to be totally independent of the existing building. Packman Lucas took the scheme to Stage G.
