The Fragment sculpture, in collaboration with UVA and the Prolyte Group, hangs delicately within Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall and part of the Burj Khalifa complex.
Aluminium U-channels and plates form the 421 identical octahedron modules which attached themselves to a structural sub-frame assembly forming the inverted pyramid.
The pyramid has a 7.5m square base and is 7.7 m deep. The whole sculpture is hung off the four corners of the atrium on pairs of 12mm diameter stainless steel cables.
UVA also installed their trademark animated lighting within the structure to create fragmented shapes.
